Centre has reached to 10th anniversary in July 2006. In order to commemorate
our 10th anniversary, we are going to offer this new program to our

Program |
| 1. |
Easy and fast access of electronic articles,
journals and electronic books on Myanmar to all those who have interest
in Myanmar history, archaeology, culture, language and literature. |

To offer the most cost effective and reasonable mean of service
to study Myanmar. |
| 3. |
To increase the number of researchers and scholars who are
interested to do Burma studies. |
| 4. |
To act as a bridge between local and foreign scholars by
means of networking. |

| 1. |
Searching and downloading of over 1,300 articles from Journal
of Burma Research Society (1911-1977). Over 30,000 pages of text and over
500 photos, graphs, charts and maps are present. A total of 377 authors
are represented and 631 subjects are included. Searches of database can
be carried out by author, title, subject, volume number and publication
year. |

Selective works on Myanmar history, culture, archaeology
and literature after independence Database : over 60 articles on Myanmar
history, culture, archaeology and literature by famous Myanmar authors such
as Dr. Than Tun, Dr. Daw Yi Yi, Daw Kyan, Col Ba Shin, U Lu Pe Win, U Pe
Maung Tin, U Than Htut, Zaw Gyi, and U Myint Aung. |

Collection of Myanmar Traditional Manuscripts : The preservation
of old Myanmar manuscripts project by mean of digitizing is the first one
to be developed in Myanmar. This whole project was developed by the Myanmar
Book Center Co.Ltd. Old paper manuscripts or Parabaiks were used as notebooks
recording monetary transactions such as loans and mortgages, trading and
sale of goods; social events like birthdates, marriages, Buddhist ceremonies,
legal cases and also formulae for traditional medicine, horoscropes and
predictions. They portray the socio-economic history of Myanmar from mid
20th century. The preservation of old Myanmar manuscripts project by mean
of digitizing is the first one to developed in Myanmar. |

Over 60 titles of Electronic Books by famous publishers such
as Bagan Book can be downloaded. |

Over 10,000 pages of digitised newspapers from 1930s to 1950s
can be searched and downloaded. Rare and famous newspapers such as “Mandalay
Daily Supplement To The Sun” and “Hanthawaddy Weekly Review”
are digitized and can be searched chronologically. |

Networking among MBC members and local Myanmar scholars on
various common interest. |
| 7. |
MBC advisorswill select important and valuable articles,
journals and books and will upload them to this membership program. |

MBC will give consultation and searching for information
on any academic research works. |

| 1. |
MBC will upload numerous researched articles from Myanmar
Historical Research Centre and Myanmar Historical Commission. |
| 2. |
Research articles (both published and un-published) from
various academic fields will be uploaded and will be given free access to
our members. |
| 3. |
Traditional Myanmar manuscripts such as Palm leaf and Parabike
will be digitized. Searching by subjects, date or keywords can be done. |

Many more Electronic books and research articles can be downloaded. |
| Membership Fee |
| Since this program
is targeting mainly to individual scholars and researchers, we have decided
to give a very minimal annual subscription fee. As we mentioned earlier,
institutions can benefit from this program also. |

For individual scholar : US$ 60 |

For institution : US$ 200 |
| Obligations
of MBC and member |
| The following obligations must met
in order to become a MBC member. |
| 1) |
A member must pay annual subscription fee in advance. MBC
will issue user ID and password to access to our journal articles online.
Member must keep this user ID and password confidential. |
| 2) |
A member should not share his/her user ID and password with
any other persons. MBC has programs to check sharing of ID and password.
If MBC found out sharing of ID and password, membership will terminate and
no refund will be made to the member. |
| 3) |
MBC will not involve in any political discussion or enquiring. |
| 4) |
This membership will last for one year and MBC will automatically
terminate when membership terms reach to one year. Members should renew
their subscription at least one month in advance in order to get continuous
access. |
