This Database CD-ROM is combined with the Index to the
Journal of the Burma Research Society (1911-1977. It is made up of 59
volumes, published over a period of 70 years. It includes a total of 136
Journals comprising of more than 1300 articles, 30,000 pages of text and
over 500 photos, graphs, charts and maps. Searches of database can
be carried out by author, title, subject, volume number and publication
year.
The preservation of old Myanmar manuscripts project by
mean of digitizing is the first one to be developed in Myanmar. It has
436 images or pages from (38) manuscripts. It has 360 records which are
on different subjects in each parabaik. Parabaik content covers from 1651
to 1943. Users can view the reading or the original text making it easier
to understand the contents of the manuscripts. They are searchable
by Category (Subject), Date, Accession No. and keywords. Browse searching
can be done by name of the Dynasties (Period) and by Subjects.
First comprehensive database on writings by scholars
on Humanities, Archeology, Culture, Religion, Literature, foreign relation
of Myanmar. It has articles written by famous Myanmar scholars like Dr.
Than Tun, Dr. Daw Yi Yi, Col Ba Shin, Daw Kyan, U Aung Thaw, U Lu Pe Win,
Zawgyi, Daw Khin Myo Chit and U Pe Maung Tin. Moreover, it also have articles
written by famous European scholars like Maurice Collis and Hugh Tinker.
This Database has over (625) no of articles on (345) of subjects. Over
(8500) of pages are searchable by Author, Title, Keyword and Subject Browse.
Many contemporary writings can be found in this database.
Containing over (39) titles in Myanmar language books. Moreover, (5) vol. set of “Inscription of Burma” (also known as Elephant Volume) can be downloaded. More interesting books will be uploading very soon.
Containing (32) palace plans and drawings from King Manuha
of Thaton (early 11th century) to King Mindon (19th century). Also contains
(54) illustrated court etiquette such as 100 maids of honour, Vehicles
& Palanquins, Equestrian Skills, royal donations. The only source
of beautifully illustrated colour parabaiks in digital format. Brief annotation
are given on each images.
