The preservation of old Myanmar manuscripts project by mean of digitizing is the first one to be developed in Myanmar. This whole project was developed by the Myanmar Book Center Co.Ltd. Old paper manuscripts or Parabaiks were used as notebooks recording monetary transactions such as loans and mortgages, trading and sale of goods; social events like birthdates, marriages, Buddhist ceremonies, legal cases and also formulae for traditional medicine, horoscropes and predictions. They portray the socio-economic history of Myanmar from mid 20th century. The preservation of old Myanmar manuscripts project by mean of digitizing is the first one to developed in Myanmar.
